During my bachelor study, I participated in National Smart Robotics Contest of Indonesia, which was held by The Minister of Higher Education of Indonesia. The objective of the contest is to create a autonomous fire fighter robot that is able to find and extinguish fire in a maze, with the same rule of Trinity Fire Fighting Home Robot Contest.
All top universities in Indonesia participated in the contest. Together with my friend Syawal and Ichwan, we were representative of our campus, Bandung Institute of Technology. My role in my team was a programmer in C (AVR Atmel Microcontroller programming) and an electrical engineer. I designed the electrical circuit and programmed a hexapod robot.
After a year of hard work, we made it to become National Champion in 2009 and were sent to the US to Trinity College the year after in 2010 and 2011.
sample code: reading sonar sensor SRF05
the complete code is unavailable since some are crucial and classified for competition.
I also built the Minimum System for Atmel Microcontroller ATMEGA32(for the sensor reading and main processing) and ATMEGA16 (for inverse kinematics algorithm) using Altium Design / Protel DXP. Yeah, I built my own microcontroller system instead of using Arduino since programming the ATMEL itself is more flexible and I can integrate with another microcontroller using I2C connection in the same board.
