Google Lunar X Prize

In order to compete in the Google Lunar X Prize, CMU’s Astrobotic team led by  Red Whitaker in Mobile Robot Design course in Fall 2013. My role in this project is as an electrical engineer in Avionics team.

The Avionics team’s roles are designing, implementing, integrating and testing the electronics system which consists of : thermal sensing/controlling, embedded computer and motor controlling.

The objectives of this project is to make a rover which will be sent to the moon. The rover must drive at least 500m on the moon and send back HD video. Testing includes thermals tests with a LN cryo chamber, vacuum tests and radiation tests of individual components and boards.
